About Dare to Leadâ„¢

Based on the research of Dr. BrenĂ© Brown, Dare to Leadâ„¢ is an empirically based courage-building program designed to be facilitated by organizational development professionals.

The most significant finding from Brené’s latest research is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable.

The Dare to Leadâ„¢ program focuses on developing these courage-building skills through workshops, trainings, and coaching to help individuals, teams, and organizations move from armored leadership to daring leadership.

Program Details

This virtual program is led by Tara Powers, MS, a Certified Dare to Leadâ„¢ Facilitator, and incorporates Dr. BrenĂ© Brown’s 20 years of research and exclusive videos. The 24-hour program can take place over 6 half-day sessions or as a 12-week series.

Facilitated activities will encourage participants to rumble with vulnerability and learn tools to combat shame and build courageous skill sets.

They will complete a self-assessment to recognize armored vs. daring leadership traits, identify their most defining values, and learn communication tools that will help them choose courage over comfort in the most difficult situations.

Pre-Work Assessment

The Pre-work Assessment is made up of four assessments that participants of a Dare to Leadâ„¢ program may complete prior to attending an event.

    1. Daring Leadership Assessment – measures an individual’s strengths and opportunities on the four skill sets of courage. This is the same as the public version except everyone completing it will automatically receive an emailed copy of their individual results.
    2. Armored Leadership vs. Daring Leadership Assessment – looks at the team’s or group’s cultural norms around armored and daring leadership elements.
    3. BRAVING Trust in Teams Assessment – asks participants to assess their team regarding the BRAVING elements.
    4. Importance of Courage-Building – asks participants if they understand why increasing courage-building skills is a priority for their team.
