Talks at Google on Virtual Teams

Interest in virtual teams continues to grow! Fresh on the heels of my Virtual Teams for Dummies book launch and guest blogging on virtual team mistakes for Training Industry Magazine, this week I was a featured speaker for Talks at Google on virtual teams.

Founded in 2006, Talks at Google is a regular – and very popular – speaker series at Google. I gave a live presentation at the Boulder office to about a dozen Google staffers and a full house of Google Hangout participants. My presentation will have a much wider audience because it was recorded and will be accessible to the broader Google audience.

Even a leading-edge tech company like Google can benefit from learning more about supporting virtual teams. I focused my presentation on what our research on virtual teams has taught us about the importance of communication agreements, group norms, connection activities and accountability. The group was particularly interested to know if I see the growing trend of remote work continuing into the future – and I absolutely do!

I am LOVING these opportunities to share my research and knowledge about virtual teams with companies large and small. I believe it is vital for leaders and teams in the modern workplace. If your company would benefit from learning more about virtual teams, give me a call today!
