Management Development Training

Creating a culture that supports success.

Effective managers have an array of skills, tools, and resources from which they can draw to effectively manage any situation, and must be comfortable wearing many hats.

Our management development training programs prepare new managers for the added pressure and responsibilities of the management role, and support seasoned managers dealing with new challenges or change.

Where most employees have been taught to focus on their individual tasks, and be less concerned about the tasks of others, our management development training transitions new managers from the perspective of “How does what I am doing affect the company?” to “How does my team impact others and the company?”

We LOVE what we do and so do our customers!

"I just wanted to take a minute to give you some feedback on our recent quarterly meeting, containing the training materials prepared by Powers Resource Center and the rest of the HR team. Overall the training was received extremely well. It took roughly 5 hours to deliver, with 8 group activity and breakout sessions as well. We had some great dialogue within the group throughout the day, as the day one meeting had all managers and most Managers in Training (MIT) attending. The material was very easy to work through, and at NO point in the day did it get dull, or monotonous with delivering the training material. Just wanted to give your group kudos for putting together the first chapter of what looks to be some great training material in “Duke U.”

From a facilitator’s viewpoint, it was great to have all of the material prepared and shipped directly to my home, ready to be rolled out! It sure beat those long nights of preparing 11 binders manually, so thank you for having that put together for us!

Day 2 was spent putting what we learned to practice, but also utilizing the training from the day before to assess how our MIT group coaches in the absence of the manager. We came up with some role play scenarios in which our MIT group had to council a partner’s performance (played by our management team) and had some fantastic results. I feel like our management team walked away with great perspective on the managerial talent levels of our people, and will be receiving clear and direct feedback sheets to help them guide their MIT’s through development. Each MIT will receive a sheet after each of these development meetings. I would be happy to forward them to you if interested. For now, I have attached some pictures to give you a visual. Hope it gives you an idea of how well it went!"
